Nagar Gilgit–Baltistan Pakistan

Nagar (Urdu: ریاست نگر‎, riasat nagar) was a princely state in the northernmost part of Gilgit–Baltistan. Until August 1947 it was in a subsidiary alliance with British India and bordered the states of the Gilgit Agency to the south and west and the princely state of Hunza to the north and east. From November 1947 to 1974, like Hunza, it was a princely state of Pakistan. The state capital was the town of Nagar.
Nagar covered territory which is now in the far north of Pakistan. The area of Nagar now forms three tehsils of the Hunza–Nagar District.

 Nagar was antecedently a aristocratic state in the northermost part of the Gilgit Baltistan of Pakistan,wich existed until 1974.Administratively there are two Tehsils in Nagar Valley namly Nagar 1 and Nagar 2 of District Hunza/Nagar. Nagar was an independent principality for 1200 years.The British gained control of
Nagar during battle at place of Nilt (Jangir-e-Laye) in 1892. Nagarians fought bravely but defeated due to lake of weapons.The Thum (King) of that time Azur Khan sent in exile to Kashmir.Hunza was previous under the domination of Nagar and Collectively called Broshal and their Capital wasCapal Dongs.But after the reign of the king Miyor Khanhis sons divided Brushall into Nagar and Hunza and declared the river as the border.Muglutbecome the king of Nagar and Girkis became the king of Hunza.The British retained Nagar status as a principality untill 1947.The people of Nagar were ruled by a king for more than 1200 years,which came to end in 1974 In 1968 revolutionary movement for democracy and freedom started under the leadreship of Syed Yehya Shah,The first educated politician of Nagar. 9 people were killed.The revoluntionary leaders including Syed Yehya Shah were impersonated for life calling them Nagar State rebellions. After the Change in Pakistani Central Government to a democracy on 25th September 1974 Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto dissolved the princely state of Nagar and set the prisoners free and gave democratic presentation into GB councel Now GBL legislative councel

 Karakorum Silk Rout more attractive after new upgradation of the road" famous mountains are Rakaposhi (25,551 ft) “Ghulmet Nagar”, DiranPeak (23,839 ft) “Minapin Nagar”, Golden Peak (23,054 ft) “Hopar Nagar”, Hispar Glacier “Hispar Nagar”,Hunza Peak (20,571 ft) “Karimabad Hunza’, Ladyfinger Peak (19,685 ft) “Karimabad Hunza”,  Ultar Sar (24,239 ft),”Karimabad Hunza” Shispare Peak (18,210 ft) “Karimabad Hunza”, Passu Glacier (24,534 ft) ”Passu Hunza”. The local language of the majority of the people of this region is Burushaski.Karimabad, in Hunza Valley, is the capital of Hunza in Gilgit-Baltistan.Karimabad is also known as Baltit. It is named after Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual head of Shia Ismaili Nizari community.Nagar Proper is the capital of Nagar Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan,. Nagar valley holds 100% Shia Muslims.

 Hisper Valley is the last village of Nagar Valley in Pakistan, and is about 28 km from the main town of Nagar Valley. It is the camping site for the adventurers who are interested in trekking over the Biafo Glacier, from Nagar to Skardu and those seeking to climb Pumari Chhish or Kunyang Chhish will go through this village. This village consist of 150 houses and visitors can see the Hisper Glacier from this village.
